Cotton is one of the most important crops in the world, with large output and low production cost, which makes the price of cotton products relatively low. Cotton fiber can be made into fabrics of various specifications, from light and transparent Paris yarn to thick canvas and thick velveteen, suitable for making all kinds of clothes, furniture cloth and industrial cloth. Cotton fabrics are strong and durable and can be washed and ironed at high temperatures.
Cotton is comfortable to wear because it absorbs and releases moisture quickly. If it is required to keep warm, the surface of the fabric can be raised by brushing. Through other finishing processes, it can also make the cotton fabric anti-fouling, waterproof, and mildew-proof; improve the anti-wrinkle performance of the fabric, so that the cotton fabric can be ironed less or even no ironing; reduce the shrinkage of the fabric during washing, so that the shrinkage rate does not exceed 1%.
Pure cotton fabric is a textile made of cotton as raw material, which is interwoven vertically and horizontally by warp and weft yarns through a loom. Cotton clothing has many disadvantages: 1. It is easy to wrinkle, and it is difficult to smooth out after it is wrinkled. 2. Easy to shrink, the shrinkage rate of pure cotton clothes is 2% to 5%, except for special processing or washing water treatment. 3. It is easy to deform, especially for summer clothes, because the fabric is relatively thin.
Woven fabrics made of textile fibers with loop pile or cut pile pile on the surface, generally made of pure cotton yarn, mixed with a small amount of blended yarn or chemical fiber yarn, and woven on a towel loom. The surface has dense loops, soft hand feeling, strong water absorption and storage, wear resistance, and good thermal performance. According to the weaving method, there are two types: knitting and woven; according to the use, there are face towels, pillow covers, bath towels, towel quilts, sofa towels, etc.; in addition, there are terry cloths for sewing clothes.
The characteristics of pure cotton are:
① Good hygroscopicity. Under normal circumstances, it can absorb moisture into the surrounding atmosphere, and its moisture content is 8-10%, so it makes people feel soft and not stiff. If the humidity of the cotton cloth increases and the ambient temperature is high, all the moisture contained in the fiber will evaporate, so that the fabric maintains a water balance state and makes people feel comfortable.
② Good thermal insulation: because cotton fiber is a poor conductor of heat and electricity, the thermal conductivity is extremely low, and because cotton fiber itself has the advantages of porosity and high elasticity, a large amount of air can be accumulated between the fibers, and the air is heat and electricity. It is a poor conductor, so pure cotton fiber textiles have good heat retention and make people feel warm when worn.
③ Good heat resistance: when the temperature is below 110°C, it will only cause the water on the fabric to evaporate without damaging the fiber, so it will have no effect on the fabric when it is worn, used, washed, printed and dyed at room temperature, thus improving the quality of pure cotton fabrics. Washable and wearable performance.
④ High resistance to alkali: Cotton fibers do not break down in alkali solution, which is beneficial for washing, disinfecting and removing impurities after consumption. At the same time, it can also be used for dyeing, printing and various processing of pure cotton textiles. To produce more new cotton varieties.
The weave structure of velvet is usually a weft-knitted terry weave, which can generally be divided into ground yarn and terry yarn. It is made of different raw materials such as cotton, nitrile, viscose silk, polyester and nylon. According to different purposes, different raw materials can be used for weaving. The fluff or pile loops are tightly erected, the color is good, noble and elegant, the fabric is strong and wear-resistant, not easy to fade, and has good resilience.
Velvet is divided into flower and plain. The surface of plain velvet seems to be all pile loops, while floral velvet cuts part of the pile loops into fluff according to the pattern. Most of the patterns are Tuanlong, Tuanfeng, Wufupanshou, flowers and birds, Bogu, etc. The texture is often expressed with concave and convex, and the colors are mainly black, sauce purple, apricot yellow, blue, and brown.
The warmth retention property of velvet is better than that of cotton material. Cotton yarn is generally used as terry yarn for velvet used as clothing. The velvet is full of fluff, soft to the touch, comfortable to wear, and elegant in appearance.
Velvet products require high-grade, low-density, long-length, high-maturity slender and high-quality cotton.
Velvet products have special requirements for the twist of the terry yarn. When using cotton yarn, it is required that the twist be small and the twist unevenness of the cotton yarn be small. At the same time, when weaving velvet fabrics, the ground yarn should be arranged in two different twist directions, and the loop yarn should be arranged in the same twist direction, which will help to improve the quality and feel of the velvet surface.
