Silk blend velvet fabric is a correct concept when it compares with 100% silk velvet fabric. 20% silk fabric and 80% viscose is made up of this kind of fabric. Silk blend velvet fabric is woven on special loom that two weights/thickness are made in the meanwhile. Then, these two pieces with two thickness are cut apart to create the piles we see on the surface. Generally, this type of fabric comes with 100% mulberry silk as the base while standing velvet is composed of 100% rayon to make it silky and soft with medium weight and fantastic drape.
Silk blend velvet fabric is very soft and with obvious sheen. Due to its special features and not low cost, it usually attaches with elegance and nobility. And it is a very good choice for being made long dresses, evening gowns and cheongsam, dress skirts, suits, coats and jumpsuits etc. And for winter and autumn garments, silk cotton fabric as the lining is recommended to increase the warmth.

Silk velvet fabric needs to be steamed with a steam ironing machine at a temperature suitable for ironing silk fabrics. It is forbidden to use a flat iron or other high-temperature items to directly touch the velvet. And the normal shrinkage is around 5%.
