During the Qing dynasty, the output of silk in the town of Linghu, a subordinate of Huzhou, could reach the output of Hangzhou, Jiaxing and Suzhou.

 

In the first year of Emperor Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1851), the United Kingdom held the first World Expo-the World Industry Expo. 12 packets of "Rongji Huzhou Silk" sent by businessman Xu Rongcun, produced in Nanxun Village, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province were awarded by Queen Victoria The gold and silver awards which also became China's first national industrial brand to receive international awards. In 1910, Huzhou Silk won the super prize in the Nanyang Quanye Association; in 1915, it won the Panama Expo and in 1929 participated in the the West Lake Expo and won a special prize. At that time, the Western nobles were proud to wear Huzhou silk, and the Queen of England wore a long silk dress made of Huzhou silk. The dragon robes of the Qing dynasty were also woven with Huzhou silk.
